So I’ve focused mainly on gadgets and other products that help maintain your beauty regime in this blog but this post is going to be a little bit different. I was on holiday recently in the beautiful country of Cambodia. For those that haven’t been, I highly recommend it. It’s more of a travelling experience than a holiday so it’s not for everyone but if you are someone for whom lying by a pool in an all-expenses resort doesn’t cut it then you should definitely give it a try.
Beauty treatments are very cheap in Cambodia, and there are a lot of spas and salons offering everything from massage to waxing and all sorts of hair treatments much cheaper than you would get back home. The only thing to be wary of is the language barrier. It can be very difficult to communicate exactly what you want and I knew a few people who had some beauty disasters while out there. In the Capitol – Phnom Penh – there are some great Western standard salons though that charge a fraction of the price you would normally pay and have western-trained staff that can help you achieve the look you want on a budget.
One of the great experiences I had out there was hair removal. I was lying on a beach when a local lady approached me asking if I wanted a massage. I readily agreed and got a fantastic massage on the beach for 10$. I was totally relaxed. The lady then proceeded to tell me how hairy I was and offered to thread my eyebrows and various other body parts. It was incredible. She got rid of all the unwanted body hair I had accrued in my time there and was so skilful with the threads that I barely noticed as she was doing it. Combining hair removal with the beautiful scenery of the beach is definitely the way forward.
