Price Protectr watches prices so you don't have to. Want the lowest
price? Wait for the price to drop -- we'll send you an email.
If you buy from any of our supported retailers, you could also be
eligible for a refund. All you need to do is enter the URL for the

Save time and money. Use Price Protectr!
Does Price Protectr Work For In-Store Purchases?
Price Protectr will work as long as the item you bought in the store
has a corresponding web page. See each store's price protection policy
to find out if rebates apply.
You can find a full list of retailers and price protection policies on
out retailers page.
Does Price Protectr Price Match Against Other Retailers?
Currently, Price Protectr's "Protection" service only tracks
items at the retailer of your choosing, with no comparison or matching
taking place. We provide information about about price matching
policies in the "good to know" sections on our
retailers page.
If you're looking to compare prices of items across retailers,
try using our keyword-based Deal Alerts feature on our
deals page.
For Price Protection, How Do I Get My Money Back?
The process varies by retailer. For in-store purchases, you usually
need to go back to the store with your receipt. For online-purchases,
you can often do it with an online form or a phone call to a customer
service representative.
Every time we notify you of a price drop, we include specific
instructions on how to request a refund for that retailer. You can
also review this information on our
retailers page.
The first thing to do is check your bulk mail or spam folder. Every
once in a while one of our emails might end up there, so if you see
Price Protectr mail in your bulk mail folder, it's important to edit
your spam settings to allow mail from alerts@priceprotectr.com.
No luck? We've heard from a lot of users with AT&T email addresses (including
ameritech.net, att.net, bellsouth.net, flash.net, nvbell.net, pacbell.net,
prodigy.net, sbcglobal.net, snet.net, swbell.net, and wans.net)
that they're not receiving our messages. We're trying to resolve this
issue with AT&T, but in the meantime we encourage you to sign up for
Price Protectr with a non AT&T email address. If you don't have
another address, we recommend signing up for a free
Gmail account. You
can even set up your new Gmail account to
forward to your AT&T address automatically.
If you've been using Price Protectr with an AT&T email address and have stopped receiving
emails, please send us a note and we can update your
email to use a different address.
Why Doesn't My URL Work?
First, find the product page for the item you purchased. (The product
page is the one where you can add the product to your shopping cart.)
Say, for example, you just got a Roomba from Circuit City. If you
bought the Roomba at your local retail store, you need to go to
Circuit City's website and find the product information page for the
Roomba. If you bought it online, you just need to go back in your
browser and find the page again. Don't worry if it's on sale and you
need to add it to your shopping cart to see the price... Price
Protectr can handle it.
What won't work? Just typing 'Roomba', trying to protect search
results, entering a link to your shopping cart, or entering a
link for your order summary.
We currently have two different types of deals on the deals page;
special offers and price drops.
The coupon icon represents special
offers from retailers like limited time offers, free shipping, coupon
codes, and more. Many of these offers will have an expiration date.
The price drop icon represents a
recent price drop. After the price drop information, we tell you how
long ago we saw the price drop. You don't need to do anything special
to get these offers, just click through to see the item.
If you do a deal search, you might also see the info icon
. The info icon represents products that
match your search, but haven't dropped in price recently.
I clicked on a price drop link and the price is different at the store website?
Prices change all the time. Every email alert we send and price drop
we post on the deals page is an actual price drop we've recorded for a
Price Protectr user. If the item isn't on sale when you click through,
it means that the retailer might have lowered the regular price, or
it could have just been a short-lived price change.
My Stuff is your free account. After you register, your My Stuff
account will let you upload receipts for safekeeping, view and manage
your items and alerts, see your savings history, rate retailers, and
change your settings and notification preferences.
You can use Price Protectr without a free My Stuff account, but you'd
be missing out on lots of free, convenient, money-saving functionality.
How Do I Change My Password?
When you sign up for a My Stuff account, we'll send you a default
password. To change it, login to the My Stuff
page and click on the "account settings" link. At the bottom of
the page, there is the option to change your password.
How Do I Rate Retailers?
If you have an item that's dropped in price, you'll be able to
rate the retailer from your My Stuff
page. Click the icon next to
the item for which you want to leave retailer feedback. You can rate
the overall experience between 1 and 5 stars and leave a more detailed
comment about the retailer's policy.
What does "Reset Lowest Price" Do?
If you have an item that's dropped in price, you might have noticed
the link that says "reset lowest price" on your
My Stuff page.
In the event the price goes back up and you're unable to collect a
refund, using this feature will allow you to set the item's lowest
price back to the original price. That way Price Protectr keeps
working to help you get your money back.
How Do I Get My Favorite Retailer Added?
We're always happy to expand our list of supported retailers. If you
have a favorite retailer that we don't support,
send us an email
and we'd be happy to add them! (The more requests we get for a
particular retailer, the more likely we are to add them.)
Do You Have A Toolbar?
As a matter of fact, we do! Our
Price Protectr Toolbar
has a whole bunch of great features.
One-click protection. When you visit a supported retailer,
a "Protect" button is enabled which will open a new tab at Price
Protectr and automatically fill in your URL.
Never forget to protect a purchase. The toolbar will stay
up to date with all our supported retailers, so you never have to
wonder whether or not a site is supported.
Retailer ratings. When you visit a supported retailer,
their price protection rating will show up letting you know how
accurate out users have found the price protection policy.
Save some dough with coupons. When you visit a supported
retailer, we'll automatically show you any coupons we currently have
available.
Much more. The toolbar also provides easy access to the
deals search, price protectr pages, full retailer profiles, and more!
Here's an example of what the toolbar looks like for Amazon.com:
How can I add my personal savings widget to Facebook?
To add your personal savings widget to Facebook, you'll need to have
an HTML box application. We recommend the
HTML Profile Box.
After you install the app, you'll have a text box where you can enter
your widget code. To get the code for your personal savings widget,
log into your My Stuff account and copy & paste the widget code from
your account settings page.
All you have to do now is give the application access to your profile
page and all your friends will see how much money you're saving!
