Anti-Ageing Products

Hey there everybody! Thanks for coming back to visit my beauty and personal care blog. It is great to have you back here. It is great to be back myself actually as I have been away for a few weeks travelling around India. Such a beautiful and diverse country. The purpose of my trip was to check out some of the vast range of natural remedies that they have out there. There is so much that they extract from nature while we in west rely on man made chemicals. One of the remedies that really impressed me was their natural anti-ageing products. They were so cheap and affordable and made from fantastic ingredients organically grown. It was truly amazing to see how they made up the lotion and to witness its results. They sell some of their products back here in the west also. You can check them out at So I guess I ought to introduce the subject of today’s blog post. You guessed it, Anti-ageing products. What are they? Why are they so popular? Do they truly work? Let us get down to business and find out.

What Are They & Why Are They So Popular?

It is a given that as we grow older our skin ages with us. It becomes wrinkled and less taught and, some would argue, less attractive. Many of us yearn to suspend or reverse this process by any means humanly possible. And, as such, many remedies and potions have been invented and produced to do just that. The basic premise of an anti-ageing product is to rejuvenate the skin and give it a younger glow, feel and look. There is a huge range of products out there to choose from all of varying types. Let us have a look at how they all differ.

Exfoliating Remedies

Exfoliators are creams or gels that work by removing dead skin cells on the skin surface. It reveals the younger, fresher skin cells underneath, instantly giving you a healthier look while aiding the anti-ageing ingredients in penetrating the skin and doing their job.

These products act to rehydrate the dry, aged skin, helping to reduce wrinkles and improve the overall look. Night time treatments are designed to penetrate deep into the skin and offer the best results for improved skin healthiness. Daytime options are designed to protect our skin from the elements such as the sun and the wind and help prevent further ageing.

These work by preventing the production of skin damaging free radicals  They are often an ingredient in other anti-ageing products such as moisturizers and exfoliators and help protect the skin and give it chance to heal and rejuvenate.

These do not need much in the way of explanation. Even the youngest of us apply sunblock and sunscreen when on beach holidays or spending time in intense sunlight. They protect the skin from the damage that can be caused by the sun’s rays. They provide the protection needed for your other anti-ageing products to to do their job without hinderance from further damage.

Anti-Ageing Ingredients

The effectiveness of any anti-ageing product is determined by the quality of its active ingredients. For best results you should look for anti-ageing gels and creams that include the following ingredients:

Green Tea - This popular ingredient has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which are beneficial for skin rejuvenation.

Copper Peptides - Excellent for stimulating collagen production and skin healing and a great booster for the effectiveness of other antioxidant ingredients.

Caffeine - Helps lower the depth of wrinkles and protect against skin cancer with its antioxidant properties.

Others - Retinol, Kinetin, Hydroxyl Acids, Vitamin C

With the right ingredients, anti-ageing products can be hugely beneficial, especially if applied prior to the onset of ageing skin. They are no brainer given the affordable low cost and easy accessibility that we have to them in this day of age.
